Outreach Worker - Full Time

Our Place to Dream – Post Majority Housing

{Wage $29.76/hr. - $32.76/hr.}

Scope of Position:

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Outreach Worker, you will provide client-centered, culturally responsive support to young adults aged 18-27 who are referred to the program or transitioning out of Our Place to Dream.

This role focuses on engaging with young adults at the point of referral and walking alongside them as they transition into independent and community-based living. The Outreach Worker supports individuals in reaching stability by ensuring they are connected to housing, income, culture, community, and ongoing supports.

The Outreach Worker will meet young adults where they are in community, in their homes, and in natural environments by supporting their connection to culture, identity, and community while navigating systemic barriers and life transitions.

This role is relationship based and time sensitive, focusing on ensuring youth do not fall through service gaps during transitions and are supported until they are safely and sustainably connected within community.

The position requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

PGNFC recognizes lived experience as an asset in supporting young adults. If you have personal or professional experience working with young adults and/or Indigenous communities, we encourage you to apply.

Required:

  • Combination of education, training, and/or experience in social services or a related field
  • Experience or awareness of community services, social systems, and resources
  • Ability to engage young adults in a meaningful, culturally relevant way
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to support individuals transitioning to independent living
  • Basic computer skills and professional documentation abilities
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to undergo a successful criminal record check

Preferred (or willingness to obtain with PGNFC support):

  • First Aid Certification, Crisis Intervention Training, Suicide Prevention Training, Food Safe, Class 4 Driver's License
