IT Financial Operations Analyst (FinOps)
##Purpose of role
The FinOps Analyst is responsible for the financial stewardship of Foresters cloud environments, ensuring cost transparency, accurate forecasting, disciplined optimizations and ensuring Foresters extracts the anticipated business value from the cloud services it is purchasing. The role supports the Foresters FinOps operating model by enabling daily cost visibility, improving forecast accuracy, and executing ongoing optimization activities such as rightsizing, idle cleanup, storage lifecycle management, and commitment optimization.
The role partners closely with IT Cloud and Infrastructure Services team, IT Operations leadership, Finance, Procurement, and vendor management to optimize technology spend, enhance accountability, and support strategic decision making.

##Key Responsibilities
INFORM – Transparency & Reporting
- Build and maintain near real-time cloud cost dashboards
- Establish cost allocation by application, owner, and cost center
- Enable anomaly detection and spend alerting
OPTIMIZE – Continuous Cost Management
- Execute optimization playbooks (rightsizing, idle cleanup, storage lifecycle) for cloud subscriptions
- Support weekly optimization sprints
- Manage commitment analysis (Reservations, Savings Plans)
OPERATE – Governance & Predictability
- Support monthly forecast vs actual cost expenditure reviews
- Improve forecast accuracy through driver-based models
- Enable workload cost ownership and unit economics pilots
- Participate in and recommend FinOps gateways as part of DevOps pipeline
- Ensure new systems and cloud services come online with development, security and financial standards fully confirmed
##Key Qualifications
- Education*(minimum required)*: Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related field
- Experience*(minimum required)*: 3–5 years’ experience in IT financial management, FinOps, IT operations, or technology budgeting
- Experience working with cloud financial models (Azure, AWS)
- Strong understanding of IT service delivery models, asset management, and vendor management
- Experience in IT Operations financial oversight in a large enterprise is highly desirable
- Advanced Excel/Power BI financial modeling and analytics
- FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred.

Salary Range:
$54,000.00 - $77,000.00
The actual base salary for this position will depend on several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in a discretionary variable incentive plan, results are subject to both individual and company performance.
