Here is what a shift as a Veterinary Assistant at Wellington Veterinary Hospital actually looks like. You start by prepping a patient for surgery, jump in to help restrain during an exam, walk a worried pet parent through their dog's discharge instructions, and somehow make it all look easy. You are not just support staff here. You are the glue that holds the whole hospital together, and we know it.
We are an AAHA-accredited, Cat Friendly veterinary hospital that has proudly served Wellington, Fort Collins, Severance, Windsor, Timnath, and the surrounding Northern Colorado communities since 1999. We offer preventative care, dentistry, surgery, urgent care, and doggie daycare, all delivered by a team that genuinely loves what they do. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to bring skill, kindness, and hustle to every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag.
What You Will Be Doing
Maintaining accurate medical records and helping answer client questions Prepping patients for exams and surgeries Administering medications as directed Assisting with lab testing including blood, fecal, and urine Cleaning and sanitizing surgical tools, kennels, and exam areas Monitoring post-op patients and reporting any changes Safely restraining patients during exams and procedures Helping educate pet parents on medications, treatments, and care Partnering with credentialed technicians and Veterinarians to deliver top-tier care
Schedule
Part-time with flexible shifts, 6 to 10 hours each Rotating weekends Holiday availability needed
What We Are Looking For
1 to 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital or similar setting A calm, steady presence with animals and the people who love them Strong communication skills with both clients and teammates Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable when the day throws you a curveball Cool under pressure and comfortable in a busy hospital environment Eager to keep learning and growing in your role A team-first mindset and the willingness to pitch in wherever you are needed

Compensation
Starting at $17+/hr. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience.
