Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Elevation Centre (OEC) three times per week at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role:
The Central Region Business Analyst Co-op Student will support initiatives for the Sales & Marketing teams and dealerships by providing data informed insights as well as lead reporting centralization and distribution. Expect frequent interaction with GM Canada’s Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support District Managers with Dealer sales insights and inventory analysis
- Develop a simplified sales reporting ecosystem
- Active role in planning and implementing sales strategies
- Assist with retail incentive program evaluation, analytics, and uncovering insights
- Competitive analysis and insights (online and in-person)
- Assist with development of sales materials for various stakeholders
- Enthusiastically embrace other assignments that may arise
- Assist with employee/dealer/field communications
- Coordinate activities across functions including Brand Marketing, Retail, Digital Innovation
- Special assignments as required
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a Bachelor's (3rd or 4th year, qualified 2nd year with very strong related Co-Op experience will be considered) degree in the following areas: Business, Finance, Marketing
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 12 month term starting May 2026
- Have a valid Full Class G Ontario driver’s license, or equivalent Canadian out-of-province license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous related business analysis or sales and marketing work experience, or Co-Op terms
- Previous experience in automotive, or a strong curiosity about the industry
- Willingness to travel and relocate across Canada should full-time opportunities be offered
Desired Skills:
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information for broad audiences
- High ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directed
- Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust
- Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric
- Excellent project management skills and the proven track record to manage numerous projects at any given
- Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Automate Reporting Workflows: Leverage tools, such as Power Automate to streamline data collection and distribution of dealer sales insights
- Data Orchestration: Assist in transitioning legacy spreadsheets to a Databricks-backed environment to enable more scalable, real-time inventory analysis and sales forecasting
- AI Proficiency: Familiarity with enterprise AI search tools (e.g., Glean) and low-code automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate) to drive operational efficiency.
- Modern Data Stack: Exposure to big data environments like Databricks for handling large-scale automotive datasets beyond standard Excel limitations.
- Fundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint with an emphasis on Excel and PowerBI
The salary range for this role is $4264- $4784 CAD. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
