The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a Process Engineer – Electronics with PCB assembly experience who enjoys solving real manufacturing problems and improving how things get built. Reporting to the Assistant Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer - Electronics will help to develop and optimize processes used to manufacture electronic assemblies. Working closely with Production, Engineering, and equipment suppliers, the Process Engineer – Electronics is a key player in the launch of new products, troubleshooting issues on the line, and continuously improving quality and efficiency. If you like working hands-on with manufacturing processes and seeing your improvements directly impact production, this role offers plenty of opportunity to make an impact!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate PCB assembly processes including soldering, component placement, flashing/programming, and functional testing
  • Support new product launches involving electronic assemblies, including process definition, equipment selection, and line setup
  • Troubleshoot electrical and manufacturing issues on the production floor and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain test strategies for PCB assemblies such as in-circuit testing, end-of-line testing, and functional verification
  • Analyze manufacturing data including cycle time, yield, labour standards, and scrap to identify improvement opportunities
  • Implement error-proofing methods to prevent manufacturing defects
  • Support software flashing and version control for electronic components used in production
  • Act as the technical contact for PCB suppliers, equipment vendors, and test equipment providers
  • Lead 8D or structured problem-solving investigations related to electronic assemblies
  • Maintain documentation including process flows, work instructions, control plans, and PFMEAs
  • Train production and technical teams on new equipment, processes, and quality requirements

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience in PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic production issues
  • Understanding of assembly methods, fixturing, and automated assembly equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with structured problem-solving tools such as 8D or A3
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with manufacturing data and basic statistical analysis

Job Details: Salary Range:$85,000 - $115,000

**Work Location:**100 Washburn Drive, Kitchener, Ontario (on-site)

**Hours of Work:**8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
