About the role

The Decision Support Lead will work closely with OVOHT member organizations to lead the development of decision support frameworks and tools that integrate data analytics, performance measurement, knowledge mobilization, and planning. They will act as project lead for OVOHT performance measurement activities, development and engagement of the Collaborative Quality Improvement Plans (cQIP), and measure progress to ensure OVOHT achieves its overall objectives.

This is a contract opportunity until March 31, 2027 offering full-time hours Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of decision support tools that enhance data-driven decision-making across OVOHT projects.
  • Collaborate with organizational members to identify key data needs and ensure the integration of relevant data sources for comprehensive analysis.
  • Support the evaluation models and pathways to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a Decision Support Strategy that aligns with the goals and objectives of OVOHT, incorporating performance measurement, data analytics and strategic insights.
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations within the Decision Support portfolio.
  • Lead the development of the OVOHT cQIP and overall evaluation of the OHT progress.
  • Lead projects and activities within the Decision Support portfolio by engaging partners, developing work plans, and reporting on progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to OVOHT on the application of decision support tools, performance analytics, and evidence-based strategies.
  • Develop communication tools and strategies to effectively convey decision support insights, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in health, social sciences, business or a relevant discipline (master’s degree preferred).
  • 3+ years recent and relevant experience in decision support, data analytics, project management or evaluation (preferably within the healthcare sector).
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating performance measurement projects/programs on collaborative initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with advanced Excel techniques, dashboard visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau), interpreting and investigating patterns in performance data (e.g. trends and subgroup comparisons).
  • Experience in translating complex data into actionable insight for healthcare decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health sector, including primary care, acute care, home care, long-term care, and community support services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of performance measurement within the health system context, including performance indicators, data infrastructure, and data collection processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of population health management frameworks and approaches to performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Commitment to health equity, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and client and family co-design.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and collaborative skills.
