Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to be partnering with the WSIB in the search for an empowering, results-driven, and people-focused Vice President, Financial Reporting to join their senior leadership team at a pivotal time in the organization, with the transition to a new head office in London, Ontario and the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Financial Reporting will provide visionary leadership, strategic oversight, and guidance, while overseeing all aspects of organizational financial reporting, internal controls, accounting policy, investment accounting, and controllership including accounts payable and payroll. This accomplished leader will ensure all reporting activities meet legislative, regulatory, and organizational requirements, while actively supporting the WSIB’s broader strategic and operational goals.

With a strong focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement, the Vice President, Financial Reporting will champion and empower a skilled team of professionals, ensuring the division’s complex operations remain aligned with the WSIB’s strategic priorities. In addition to driving operational excellence, a critical mandate will be the advancement of the WSIB’s ERP transformation, including the implementation of Oracle Fusion, to enhance financial transparency and operational efficiency.

The accomplished Vice President, Financial Reporting will oversee the preparation and delivery of internal and external financial reports under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), present results to the Audit and Finance Committee, and provide clear recommendations that support sound governance and strategic decision-making. This experienced leader will manage internal controls over financial reporting, guide financial policy development, oversee payroll and accounts payable functions and oversee the WSIB’s engagement with its external auditors throughout the year.

With strong relationship management skills, the Vice President, Financial Reporting will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors, regulators, the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), and the WSIB’s pension administrator, WISE Trust. Through these efforts, the Vice President, Financial Reporting will contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives and play a key role in advancing the WSIB’s commitment to transparency, operational excellence, and financial transformation.

To succeed in the role of Vice President, Financial Reporting, the ideal candidate will:

  • Bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 8 to 10 years at a senior level within a large, complex organization. Experience in the public sector, insurance, or regulatory environments is considered an asset.

  • Hold a CPA designation, with an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

  • Demonstrate a strong background in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, risk management, and ERP system implementation.

  • Be a collaborative and empowering leader with a track record of developing high-performing teams and guiding large-scale change initiatives.

  • Possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging executive teams, board committees, and external partners.
