The Public Utilities Board is seeking to fill the position of Senior Judicial Hearing Officer (CL5).

Qualifications:
Essential:

Post secondary education and experience performing various administrative duties including data entry, filing, and preparing, administering, and processing complex legal documentation (preferably in a legal environment)
-
Ability to work in a face-paced environment to control and manage the document workflow (preferably for proceedings and filings)
-
Experience in accurately handling highly sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner
-
Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making skills to solve problems
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work co-operatively and effectively in a team environment
-
Strong verbal communication skills to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
-
Effective written communication skills
-
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to prioritize work to perform strict and often competing deadlines
-
Demonstrated computer literacy with aptitude for working with different software packages and systems including Microsoft Office Suite
Desired:
- Knowledge and experience in Provincial or Kings Court(s), a government agency, utility or the utility sector, quasi-judicial bodies
- Experience reviewing and making recommendations to superiors on methods and procedures or related administrative matters regarding evidence
- Experience interpreting legal documents, statutes and regulations
- Experience with web design and website updating
Duties:
Working closely with the Judicial Hearing Assistant, the SJHO is one of the administrative support FTE’s within the Public Utilities Board (PUB) responsible for managing evidence, submission, documents presentations and regulatory or legal filings before the PUB. The SJHO will be the primary support staff for operating and managing the Hearing Room Control Center which is a proprietary based IT system used to manage the flow of evidence during public regulatory hearings and ensuring public access to all filed and approved documents.
