Job Description
Project Manager position! This is a direct placement opportunity and will be remote in Vancouver, BC.
What You'll Be Doing
Act as Engineer of Record for rail and transit systems projects across British Columbia, ensuring full compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements Serve as Responsible Registrant in BC, maintaining the Professional Practice Management Plan and supervising all engineering activities under your authority Lead engineering design initiatives in collaboration with Technical Managers, driving innovation and technical excellence across rail and transit systems Lead requirements management processes, establishing and maintaining full traceability of requirements through design, verification, and validation phases Manage the generation of design documentation and ensure adherence to engineering quality management standards and best practices Manage design interfaces with customers, authorities, and third-party stakeholders, serving as the primary engineering liaison for projects Support project management activities throughout the full project lifecycle, including design, construction, and testing phases, both remotely and on-site Provide engineering expertise on Operations & Maintenance, Reliability/Availability/Maintainability (RAM), Safety, and Security considerations Perform engineering field reviews and inspections as required to ensure design intent and quality standards are met Assist in preparation of cost estimates and tender documentation, and sign and seal engineering deliverables as required
What You'll Need to Have
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in British Columbia and reside within an hour commute of Vancouver. Senior-level experience with design, commissioning, and verification & validation in rail and transit environments Demonstrated expertise with Public Address (PA) systems in transit applications Proven experience with Passenger Information Signage systems (PVIS/PIDS) Strong technical background with telephony systems in rail and transit environments Experience with CCTV and automated passenger-counting systems (preferred) Experience with life safety systems and collaborating with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and fire response authorities to establish comprehensive fire response plans (preferred) Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with clients, regulatory authorities, and cross-functional internal teams Proactive, solution-focused approach with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple interfaces and competing priorities
