About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Team Leaderto join our Rocky Support Services Society team. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of individuals in a group home facility. Your leadership skills and experience in disability services will be essential in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our residents. This also includes a direct support/service responsibility and assisting residents to meet their outcomes.
Managing the day-to-day operation of the departments include:

Working well and developing effective relationships.

Dealing with a wide range of people with flexibility and open-mindedness.
-
Encouraging, teaching, and assisting individuals to live more independently in our community within employment/volunteer, recreational activities, home environment and other social settings.

Leading, influencing, motivating, and persuading others to achieve goals and looking for ways to help others and provide assistance.

Delegating responsibility, expecting accountability, and provide regular feedback.
-
Monitoring and reporting on the general health and wellness of those individuals under their care and be responsible for the prescribed procedures set by a health care professional.

Following outlined individual service plans related to life skill development, every day routines in home and community, and behavior support.

Participating in the completion of documentation and required reports.
-
Transporting individuals as required.

Assist, support and encourage clients to be self-advocates.
-
Maintaining open and clear lines of communication with others, observing and coaching other employees; assisting with training.
-
Executing all tasks assigned by their Program Manager diligently, on schedule.

Monitoring budgets and completing financial ledgers
-
Maintaining employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling
-
Monitoring and approving employee timecards.

Being an “on-call” resource (part of the on-call rotation), and acting as the go-to person leading by example for all team member training, goals, and engagement
Qualification and skills:
-
Healthcare Aid Certificate and/or experience is considered an asset
-
Excellent conflict management, problem solving skills, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
-
Ability to prioritize tasks
-
Supervision experience and education in related disability services field considered an asset
-
Familiar with the use of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Bamboo, and MakeShift scheduling considered an asset
-
Criminal Record Check; including Vulnerable Sector (within the last 3 months)
-
Good computer skills
-
Minimum 1 year driving experience with a Class 5 license, copy of driver's abstract, and proof of insurance for 2 million liability also required.
