Chrome Shop Technician - Gir Del
Status Regular, Full time
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Job Description The Guillevin GIR DEL Business Centre is the largest full service mobile hydraulic facility in Western Canada. The Centre provides the highest level of knowledgeable customer service for over 40 years.
Reporting to the Business Centre Work Shop Supervisor, the Chrome Shop Technician is responsible for the quality control of hydraulic cylinder components that require polish / and or chrome application repairs to their required spec. The Chrome Shop Foreman will delegate your daily tasks in a fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude in a work team environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Using precision measuring tools such as micrometers & dial indicators to measure hydraulic components (Hydraulic cylinder rods, valve spools, pump shafts, yokes etc.)
- Preparation and clean all components before proceeding with repair process
- Masking parts for stripping of original chrome
- Masking parts for new chrome application
- Daily operation of the chrome tanks
- Operating manual polishing machine to repair round diameter shafts to precision specifications required while using the correct polish belts required.
- Determining how much stock material to remove
- Review blueprints or specifications for a job if drawings are provided
- Maintain cleaning tanks daily
- Maintain glass blasting units
- Maintain clamps for corrosion and bending
- Maintain & clean all copper jigs, & anodes
- Assembly and removal of chrome fixtures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Answering to chrome shop foreman in regards to daily tasks
Qualifications
- Mechanically Inclined
- Experience not necessary but considered an asset (Wage negotiable based off experience)
