Our client is a well established environmental and regulatory consulting firm supporting complex, regulated projects across Western Canada. The business works across environmental planning and assessment, regulatory approvals, stakeholder engagement, construction support, environmental inspection, mitigation, reclamation, and abandonment. Backed by a broader platform of complementary service lines, the company provides integrated support across major projects from early planning through execution and close out. This role has been created to strengthen project leadership in the field and support continued growth across active programs in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Compensation
- Base salary of $130,000 to $150,000.
- Bonus pool tied to 20% of EBITDA.
- Phantom stock plan tied to 15% of enterprise value in the event of an exit or company sale.
- 4 weeks of vacation.
- Company vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental field assessments and site inspections across active project sites.
- Build scopes of work and deliver environmental assessments against schedule, budget, and client expectations.
- Manage project execution across contractors, consultants, and internal resources to ensure alignment with scope, EPP requirements, and budget.
- Develop and review technical reports and environmental submissions, including OneStop submissions where required.
- Serve as a day to day point of contact for clients and site representatives on environmental planning, compliance, and permitting matters.
- Provide practical technical judgement and recommendations that improve compliance, field execution, and operating efficiency.
- Plan and execute pre construction and in progress field visits and document findings in a clear, defensible manner.
- Maintain accurate field documentation, project records, and close out files that are audit ready.
- Apply Alberta, Saskatchewan, and relevant federal regulatory requirements across active project work.
- Lead junior field staff in the field, set expectations, and support training and development.
- Demonstrate strong environmental and safety leadership on site and hold field execution to a high standard.
- Support work across the energy life cycle, including traditional oil and gas, renewables, and carbon capture.
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and consistent client value.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in environmental field assessments, site inspection, regulatory submissions, and project management within the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta and Saskatchewan provincial requirements, along with relevant federal requirements.
- Proven ability to manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and multi party field execution.
- Experience producing technical reports and regulatory submissions.
- OneStop submission experience is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical and regulatory advice directly to clients.
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and cross functional teams.
- Strong safety mindset and site leadership capability in active field environments.
- Strong digital capability, including ArcGIS and Microsoft Office, with particular strength in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Relevant degree in Forestry, Biology, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional authentication or designation is an asset, including QAES or wetland credentials.
