Title: Executive Director, Primary Health Care and Virtual Services
Salary: $141,038 - $165,927 - $190,817 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm (core hours 9am-3pm Monday-Friday)
Location: FNHA’s Alberni Office, Vancouver
Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy.
Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.
About the Role
The Executive Director, Primary Health Care and Virtual Services provides executive-level leadership and operational work planning, risk mitigation, standards, processes, project management and performance management for the Primary Health Care portfolio. The Executive Director also develops, plans and implements First Nations led Primary Health Care initiatives and other projects broadly related to primary care (for example Virtual Services).
The Executive Director provides executive-level leadership within FNHA and executive leadership and relationship/partnership development externally at the federal, provincial, regional and local level; and also engages, collaborates, represents and advises on primary health care services in alignment with the FNHA’s seven directives, operating principles and values.
The Executive Director will also lead and model cultural safety and humility in all interactions, partnerships and initiatives and will provide leadership that creates and fosters a healthy and engaging environment that enables personal excellence, contributes to FNHA’s vision of “Health through Wellness” and cultural safety and humility in the workplace.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A University degree with a relevant specialization or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
- Relevant, recent and significant experience in the provision of senior level strategic and operational planning, normally acquired over 10 years or more of related work;
- Significant, recent and relevant experience providing leadership to and partnering with senior management on projects and initiatives, normally acquired over 15 years or more of related work;
- Experience working with First Nations leadership to internal and external relationships;
- Experience leading and managing major projects;
- Experience working with First Nations leadership and interest groups;
- Extensive knowledge of the FNHA, the First Nations Health Council and the First Nations Health Directors Association;
- Extensive knowledge of First Nations community health systems and processes, as well as at the local, regional and provincial level;
- Extensive knowledge of the First Nations health landscape and governance relationship in BC, including health system operations;
- Extensive knowledge of the current landscape of primary health care within FNHA and across the broader BC health care system inclusive of priorities and projects at the local, regional and provincial level;
- Knowledge of the unique eHealth landscape within the FNHA and First Nation communities along with the landscape across the regional and provincial health system partners in BC.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
