DESCRIPTION

Role
This position reports to and is accountable to a Coordinator, Service Delivery and is responsible to lead and deliver branch-based operations, including providing branch-based leadership of Delivering Patron-Centred Customer Service and ensuring the consistent application of library policies and procedures.

In collaboration with Librarians, Coordinators and other library staff assist in implementing programs, services and special events to promote use of the library branch. Actively collaborates with other Branch Supervisors and participates in various committees.

All duties are carried out adhering to Greater Victoria Public Library’s (GVPL) policies, procedures, standards and resources, and within provincial legislation and regulations, e.g. Workers’ Compensation Act, Human Rights Code, and collective agreement.

Wed Thurs Fri Sat Sun (when open) 9:00am – 5:00pm 9:00am – 5:00pm 9:00am – 5:00pm 9:00am – 5:00pm 12:45pm – 5:15pm

  • When Central Branch is open on Sunday (typically October to May each year) this position will be required to work each Sunday.

  • Schedule is subject to change based on operational requirements.

  • Evening and weekend work may be required
