##About the job
You will:
- Embody the SLPC's equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.
- Provide senior level financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Provide controllership expertise for the development, implementation, and ongoing update of financial models, reports, reconciliations, processes and procedures relating to all finance activities at the St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC).
- Oversee controls and accounting of financial transactions and preparation of financial statements.
- Undertake a leadership role in providing professional level financial analysis advice to stakeholders.
- Beyond these core responsibilities, you will assist the Accounts Receivable team and perform other administrative duties as required.
##What you bring to the team
###Knowledge and Experience:
You have:
- Expert knowledge of theories, principles and practices of professional accounting acquired through training as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or enrollment in the program, together with progressively more responsible experience in the accounting field.
- Demonstrated experience with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and modern controllership practices and of financial decision-making processes, with specialized understanding of finance, auditing, planning, budgeting and forecasting to monitor agency financial transactions and processes.
###Financial Management and Analytical Skills:
You have:
- Strong financial management and analytical skills to: provide comprehensive analyses and advice on financial controllership policies and procedures; to review reports on major issues, analyze and identify anomalies and to determine whether business objectives are met; to provide practical financial advice to business unit managers regarding promotions, new product business opportunities, budgets and controls.
- Demonstrated ability working with activity-based costing, management reporting, performance analysis, statistical and financial analysis, quantitative techniques and budgetary planning processes and procurement practices.
###Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
You have:
- Well-developed interpersonal, and communication skills to build and maintain relations with business unit managers and to convince internal stakeholders of the benefits to be gained by improving financial controls/procedures.
###Computer Skills:
You have:
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated skill to work with various database accounting & productivity software, including MS Excel to access data, prepare reports, spreadsheets, financial statements, etc.
