Position Overview
The position will work independently and cooperatively to assist with the provisions of ongoing maintenance and repair activities of the facility, in accordance with established policies/procedures.
Experience
Minimum three years experience in related trades.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Valid Class 5 driver’s license. Complies with all legislation, regulations, i.e.: WHMIS, Workplace Safety and Health.
Qualifications And Skills
Three years experience in building operations management or related education. Ability to coordinate contract service needs. Must be reliable, dependable and punctual. Considerate of the safety and economic aspects of equipment and supplies. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of work performance. Maintains security and safety of environmental workplace. Communicates effectively with staff and residents and promotes good interpersonal relationships.
Physical Requirements
Possesses physical ability to move equipment and large, heavy objects. Bending, working from ladders and scaffolds, high level platforms or in confined spaces and enclosures. Working in all weather conditions is a requirement of the position.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden Door Geriatric Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
Interviewed candidates may be called upon to participate in a skills assessment.
