Title: Toxic Drug Response Manager
Salary: $ 99,899 - $117,528 - $ 135,158 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Core hours 9am-5pm Mon-Fri
Location: Park Royal Office, West Vancouver located on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Squamish, Musqueam & Tsleil-Waututh Nations
About The Role As Toxic Drug Response Manager, you will manage and oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and quality control of the Vancouver Coastal Region’s Toxic Drug Response. This includes the implementation of FNHA’s Framework for Action in responding to the toxic drug crisis for First Nations as well as a focus on areas including decriminalization, harm reduction programs and services and collaboration with partners across the province. You will prioritize optimizing the health emergency response of the toxic drug crisis across the FNHA, including collaboration with provincial teams, First Nations communities and families, thereby impacting overall wellness and health outcomes for First Nation communities, families and individuals. This position includes performing a full scope of people management and fiscal management responsibilities. You will build and nurture partnerships with Vancouver Coastal Region First Nations communities, Regional and Provincial Health Authority staff and as well as other health system partners.
About You To be successful in this role you will have/be:
Education
- Master’s Degree in psychology, public health, health sciences, social work (or a related degree), plus 5 years related experience, including that in a previous leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a clinical setting
Occupational Certification
- Registration with a governing body would be an asset.
Experience
- Recent experience within the last 5 years in mental health/substance use programs and planning (usually acquired after a minimum of 5 years of experience)
- Significant, recent and relevant experience working within BC’s health care system (usually acquired after a minimum of 5 years of experience)
- Demonstrated experience responding to the toxic drug emergency and trauma informed practice
- Experience providing leadership. coaching and ongoing development to teams and/or staff
- Demonstrated experience working with First Nations and Indigenous community members and organizations
Knowledge And Abilities
- Knowledge of the health and wellness governance landscape in First Nations health in BC, particularly relative to mental wellness
- Knowledge of theories, practices and principles related to mental wellness, suicide prevention, mental health emergency response, and harm reduction particularly relative to First Nations in BC, including knowledge of current programs and services available
- Knowledge of Indigenous and First Nations mental wellness health system needs, including mental health and wellness issues that face BC First Nations
- Knowledge of mental health and wellness program development is desirable

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
