SUMMARY
The LTL Customer Service Lead is responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day functions of the Customer Service team. They will continue to implement standard operating procedures for the Customer Service team and assist in training and support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support customer service staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Help facilitate onboarding and orientation for new staff.
- Responsible for implementing SOP’s and manage the day-to-day functions of the Customer Service team.
- Monitor operational inefficiencies and report findings to Management.
- Complete regular coaching/mentoring of staff and assist with staffing decisions.
- Address employee issues as required.
- Ensure occupational health and safety procedures are adhered to.
- Assist Customer Service Representatives with customer concerns.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer service issues are addressed.
- Provide coverage for direct reports vacation and personal days when required.
- All other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2) years of experience supervising a team preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation industry preferred.
- Ability to make quality decisions and respect for confidentiality.
- Able to organize, prioritize and with attention to detail.
- Intermediate experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with AS400 preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. geography considered an asset.
- Strong organization, time management, and computer skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Salaried position based on 40-hour week.
- Monday to Friday, 730am to 4:00pm.
