Within the context of the Provincial Digital Health & Information Services (PDHIS) Lower Mainland consolidated area that provides services to Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care, and Provincial Health Services Authority and other Lower Mainland consolidated services (VPPL), the Business Support Analyst reports to the Team Lead and/or designate and is responsible for coordinating end-to-end release planning, execution, and closure across various clinical application environments. The Business Support Analyst utilizes technical knowledge of Oracle Health EHR build methodology, Jira and Confluence release workflows, and coordination skills, combined with a thorough understanding of release management and change control methodologies, to perform the duties of their role.
The Business Support Analyst is responsible for the full lifecycle of clinical application releases, from initial lock and container creation through certification and production build day execution to final closure. This includes authoring and maintaining Release Content pages in Confluence, preparing and distributing site release notes with non-technical descriptions, coordinating with learning team, site stakeholders, and chairing Release Management Content Review meetings. The role ensures that special bulletins, operational notifications and communications are delivered accurately and on time to the appropriate teams, while monitoring build day activities across certification and production environments.
The Business Support Analyst contributes to continuous improvement of release control processes, ensures adherence to documentation and communication standards throughout the application deployment lifecycle, supports the assignment of test patients in production where required, and captures release outcomes to close release containers in accordance with established protocols. The role assists with orientation and onboarding for new staff and reports and refers issues to the Team Lead or Manager as appropriate.
What you’ll do
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand project structures, policies, workflows, requirements and operations to identify, model and document business, process, and data requirements.
- Act as an advisor to the team(s) by assessing project risks, identifying risk mitigation strategies and opportunities and monitoring risk throughout the life cycle of the project. Recommend solutions to achieve goals and outcomes.
- Support testing; the development of implementation materials; and process definition and design.
- Translate technical issues and architectural complexities in a manner that assists project stakeholders in understanding issues more clearly.
- Work with project stakeholders to test and validate requirements and analysis models by various methods such as reviews, walkthroughs, etc. as appropriate. May assist in writing user acceptance test cases and liaise between project stakeholders and testing groups.
- May configure and build using the Cerner build tools. Develop and document detailed application specifications. Validate specification documentation.
- Provide project management support to coordinate and monitor the project and key deliverables.
- Interact with stakeholders at all levels, receive input, and prepare reports for all levels of governance and stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Clinical Informatics or related discipline, plus a minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related experience in health care or information management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples in social and health contexts, including supported by significant knowledge of Indigenous-specific mandates, including clear understanding of and commitment to eradicate Indigenous-specific racism and discrimination and embed Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the historic and ongoing impacts of settler colonialism and systemic racism on Indigenous Peoples within social and health contexts. This includes understanding how these factors contribute to current health disparities and barriers to care. Show a clear commitment to identifying, challenging, and eradicating Indigenous-specific racism and all forms of discrimination impacting equity-deserving groups within health care settings. This involves familiarity and understanding Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility recognizing personal biases, institutional barriers, engaging in anti-racism education and training and advocating for systemic change.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments within Clinical & Systems Transformation contexts found in the foundational documents including Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study - BC Human Rights Code, BC Anti-racism Act and how they intersect across the health care system.

Job Type: Temporary Full-Time (Until December 2027 or Until Return of Incumbent)
Salary Range: $76,111 - $109,409. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
