The Corporation of the City of North Bay is currently accepting applications for the position ofPOA Administration Clerk/Court Clerk Monitor. Under the direction of the Manager of Provincial Offences, provides administrative support for the operations and procedures of Provincial Offences Act matters as well as Court Monitor and maintenance of records of all court proceedings. The Clerk/Monitor also acts as backup to all positions within the administration office.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Community College Diploma in Law Clerk Program or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years related court and/or legal experience or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
- Must be bilingual with verbal and written proficiency in both English and French.
- Knowledge of procedures, processes, legislation and regulations related to the Ontario Court of Justice and the Provincial Offences Act (POA).
- Knowledge of court processes and proceedings including protocol and etiquette with the ability to exercise discretion, judgement, diplomacy.
- Previous experience as cashier and office administration experience.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
- Good judgment skills and excellent attention to details and accuracy.
- Accurate data entry skills and the ability to use Ministry and standard computer applications (ICON, Microsoft Office, CAMS, ZOOM, Liberty Recording System) as they relate to the position.
- Previous experience or knowledge of the ICON system is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with the public, police, legal professionals and the judiciary system in an efficient and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess a valid Class G driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle available for use on the job.
- Current and clear Criminal Record Check is required.
