About the Role Reporting to the Director, Social Planning + Protective Services, the Manager, Bylaw and Business Licensing Services is a pivotal member of the leadership team, responsible for coordinating municipal bylaw compliance and enforcement, enhancing community safety, and processing business licenses. This role supervises professional bylaw officers and administrative staff, leading a team that interacts directly with citizens and businesses to deliver proactive, solutions-oriented service.

This is an incredible opportunity for a self-motivated, collaborative, and socially minded bylaw leader to oversee and execute enforcement and community safety activities, while responding to public disorder challenges related to homelessness, mental health, and addictions, in accordance with municipal policies. The preferred candidate will have a degree or diploma in criminology, business or social sciences combined with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in bylaw compliance and/or business licensing with increasing levels of responsibility, combined with five (5) years in a supervisory or management role in a local government setting. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police information and vulnerable sector check and must pass and maintain security clearance levels as established by the RCMP.

The salary for this position ranges from $115,819 to $126,558 and is supplemented by a competitive total compensation plan.
