The Edmonton Police Service requires an Intelligence and Investigative Support Clerk with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to provide support to the Branch Criminal Intelligence Analyst (CIA), Field Intelligence Officer (FIO) and members of Branch Management, Patrol, Beats and Investigative Response (IRT) Teams. Reporting to the Manager of Crime Analysis and Intelligence Section, this position will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Support the Branch CIA and FIO in their day-to-day duties including creation of Bulletins and other day to day documents.
- Update Offender Management documents with court dates, conditions, warrants and MO information.
- Run dashboard and patrol management reports for presentation to Divisional / Branch leadership, patrol operations, Squad Sergeants, Watch Commanders, or investigative teams.
- Actively liaise with Analysts, internal/external units and attend daily/weekly meetings.
- Maintain database entries, logs and dashboards, and collect/collate data on crime occurrences, trends, series or events.
- Compile and disseminate statistical reports, assist with the creation and updating of Information documents, conduct indices checks and field service requests.
- Assist the Investigative Response Teams and aid in the creation and maintenance of investigative products and preservation and organization of that information.
- Convert various types of information, documents and reports into electronic formations enabling them to be captured into identified databases.
- Other related duties.
Qualifications:
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications.
- A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
- Proven team player.
- Experience in a public customer service-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office suite products, particularly Excel.
- Proficiency in NICHEUA, Power BI and iBase.
- Extensive experience in the maintenance of databases and the preparation of statistical reports.
Hours of Work:
33.75 hours per week. Monday to Friday
Salary Range:
21M, Salary Grade: 006, $25.864 - $32.117 (Hourly), $1,745.80 - $2,167.90 (Bi-Weekly), $45,565.90 - $56,582.12 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
