Argen is seeking a hands-on, quality-focused Manufacturing Technician to lead daily operations on the production floor during evening shifts. This role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys coaching teams, solving day-to-day production challenges, and helping ensure production plans are carried out efficiently, safely, and to a high-quality standard.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this senior Manufacturing Technician will oversee shift operations, provide guidance to the manufacturing team, and help ensure production targets, quality standards, shipment timelines, and service-level expectations are consistently achieved.
What You’ll Do
Lead day-to-day production floor activities, including assigning tasks, monitoring work, and supporting team performance. Ensure daily production targets, quality standards, final QC requirements, and shipment schedules are met. Monitor labour hours and overtime. Support staffing coverage by reviewing staffing levels, managing vacation requests based on production needs, and adjusting schedules as required. Troubleshoot immediate production issues and escalate technical or digital support matters when needed. Maintain a skills and competencies matrix for technicians and support training, coaching, and levelling opportunities across the team. Ensure Salesforce cases are created, actioned within defined service-level expectations, and escalated appropriately when required. Draft and propose standard operating procedures updates and support compliance with approved SOPs. Oversee cycle count completion and provide recommendations to resolve production inventory discrepancies. Support R&D testing as assigned by the Operations Manager. Promote a safe and compliant work environment by monitoring recordable incidents, safety violations, SOP adherence, and required procedures. Report on production and team performance to management on a quarterly basis.
What You Bring
Advanced knowledge of precise manufacturing and digital workflow with a minimum of 5 years of recent experience. Leadership experience in a high-production work environment. Strong leadership qualities, including self-awareness, team focus, accountability, and the ability to translate learning into action. Ability to train, guide, and support others while driving team success. Quality-focused approach with strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly in both written and verbal form. Dependability, schedule adherence, and the ability to meet tight deadlines and production goals. Ability to follow instructions, read work instructions and SOPs, learn technical concepts, and complete on-the-job training. Proficient computer skills in MS Office. Prior dental lab experience or knowledge of dental anatomy as well as CAD or 3Shape experience are a definite asset. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and contribute where needed. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including standing, walking, and operating equipment for extended periods of time, manual dexterity, occasional lifting up to 50lbs, exposure to noise and airborne particles (non-toxic).
