Job Summary

As a Snow Removal Operator, you are responsible for maintaining clear and accessible resort grounds including parking lots, roads, building entrances, staff accommodations, and utility routes. You will operate heavy equipment such as loaders and skid steers safely and efficiently in a high-traffic mountain environment. This role is critical to ensuring guest and staff safety and is often cross trained with other departments to support dynamic operational needs. Job Responsibilities

  • Operate snow removal equipment including CAT 980G Loader, CASE 921G Loader, 252 Skid Steer, and gas-powered snow blowers
  • Clear snow from parking lots, roadways, building access points, and utility routes during non-operational hours including overnight shifts
  • Perform daily start-up inspections and post-operation shutdown checks on equipment
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and notify mechanic of maintenance needs
  • Ensure machinery is properly stored and secured at the end of each shift
  • Maintain safe and visible access around the main lodge, lifts, staff housing, and public pathways
  • Monitor and report hazards to the patrol department each morning
  • Follow all safe work procedures and equipment operating standards
  • Use proper radio protocol at all times
  • Assist in emergency response situations and equipment-based tasks as needed
  • Maintain accurate daily log sheets and checklists
  • Present a professional and safety-first attitude on and off equipment
  • Cross-train and assist with snow removal or support tasks in other departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

-**Required:**Previous heavy equipment documented operating experience (including loaders and skid steers)

  • Required: Class 5 unrestricted BC drivers license with a clean drivers abstract (provided annually)
  • Experience with snow removal in mountain or winter resort environments preferred
  • Comfortable operating in low visibility, steep grades, and icy conditions
  • Must be able to make sound decisions regarding guest and team safety
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing outdoor tasks for extended periods
  • Able to work scheduled night shifts on weekends, and holidays as required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
  • Cross-departmental support and snow removal responsibilities are expected from all Outdoor Operations staff
