#####Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Terrace Health Unit.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Licensed Practical Nurse - Home Support Team Lead practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outline by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Coordinates Home Support Services by supervising Community Health Workers, overseeing the implementation of client care plans, providing training and evaluation of personal care techniques, provides advocacy services, and also functions as a member of the interprofessional team and applies best practice to provide competent, safe, and ethical care for people and their families in settings such as physician practices, homes, schools, and communities.
A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are starting in B.C.! Interior Health, alongside B.C.'s other health authorities, is implementing mNPRs as a transformative staffing initiative that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.
#####Qualifications

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.

Two (2) years of recent, related experience including one (1) year in a supervisory role; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Current valid BC Driver’s License.
Skills and Abilities:

Ability to supervise others.
-
Demonstrated knowledge and skills within a specific clinical specialty or patient population dependent on the nature of the caseload (e.g. acute care, gerontology, palliative, etc.).

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
-
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
-
Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
-
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize; and ability to implement a plan of care.
-
Ability to operate related equipment including proficiency in relevant computer applications.
-
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Use of own vehicle.

Established in July 2000, Northern Health provides quality health care services to the expanding communities in Melbourne's northern suburbs. In one of Melbourne's busiest growth corridors, Northern Health offers the community health care services where they are needed - close to where people live.
