Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Server role located at the beach house restaurant in West Vancouver, BC. The Server is responsible for greeting guests, presenting menus, answering questions about food and beverages, and providing recommendations based on guest preferences. Day-to-day tasks include taking orders accurately, entering them into the POS system, coordinating with kitchen and bar staff, and serving food and drinks in a timely and professional manner. The role also involves handling payments, setting and clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and following all health and safety procedures. Servers are expected to deliver consistent, friendly, and attentive service, support teammates during busy periods, and help create an enjoyable dining experience for every guest.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor with guests and coworkers. Candidates should possess solid organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tables, prioritize tasks during peak hours, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess basic math and cash-handling skills, with the ability to manage bills, process payments accurately, and use a point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently. Candidates should possess teamwork and collaboration skills, including the ability to coordinate with kitchen, bar, and hosting staff and support colleagues to ensure smooth service. Candidates should possess knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including familiarity with menu items, dietary considerations, and safe alcohol service (Serving It Right or equivalent certification is an asset). Previous experience as a Server or in a hospitality role is beneficial; reliable availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry trays or plates safely, and follow all workplace health and safety guidelines.
