About the role
On-site | Full time | Mid-level (3+ years) About Us In Trench Canada, we deliver state-of-the-art, safe, and reliable instrument transformers, coils, and bushings for seamless energy transmission. Scope We are looking for a Pre-peg Operator to join our Production Team located in East Toronto, ON. This role will require work in a manufacturing setting. This is a unionized position.
Your Tasks:
- Receives fiberglass, cores, resin, hardener for processing and returns drums to the appropriate location.
- Set-up and threading of dry glass onto holding racks.
- Strings glass through resin baths and spreaders to take-up.
- Mix hardener and resin to the required amounts using scales provided.
- Conduct proper storage of over-produced glass (including fridge, first in-first out etc.) to maximize produced glass expiry date (resin curing).
- Monitor wet-glass consumption and produce accordingly
- Check and read required manufacturing documents.
- Conduct proper cleaning of pre-peg bath and parts, including readiness for burn-off over.
- Report material shortage to Supervisor immediately.
- Use measuring equipment, hand tools, air tools and power tools.
- Monitor assigned production orders and make machine/workflow adjustments to maintain efficiency.
- Operate various Powered Industrial Trucks.
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- An outstanding safety and quality conscious approach while performing work duties.
- Excellent proficiency in English including demonstrated ability to follow verbal/written instructions and complete technical paperwork when needed
- Flexibility to work 3 shift rotation is a requirement of the position. Excellent attendance
