ARE YOU LOOKING FOR AN AMAZING SUMMER JOB?
As the Camp Float Assistant & Relief Staff, you will be responsible for supervision and monitoring of the campers during lunch breaks. The lunch supervision staff, will assist campers with dining regulations, provide relief for Camp Instructors and support the campers during lunchtime activities. This role will work as part of a team to ensure a safe, productive and enjoyable experience for all campers and includes giving staff breaks

WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS JOB:
- Actively monitors all camper activity in various dining spaces
- Relieve staff in program areas for breaks
- Follow all camp procedures and policies, including Appleby’s Mutual Respect policy
- Participate in all required training related to Health & Safety
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all campers
- Assist campers with dietary restrictions/allergies
- Communicate with Sodexo Kitchen team and Camp staff to ensure smooth delivery of meals
- Monitor water re-fill area/recycling/ compost station
- Create & implement activities/games during mealtimes
- Provide feedback/observations to Senior Staff Team, Camp Office Staff, Head Instructors
- General clean-up, current safety procedures met
- Oversee outside play and/or lunch activities
- Participate in all required training related to health and safety
WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS JOB:
- Assist with supervision of campers enrolled in Before Care &/or After Camp Care
- Provide activities for campers and support staff break schedule
- Engage campers in fun, recreational and variety of age-specific activities
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring a safe environment
- To maintain a positive and consistent approach towards child management, compatible with the philosophy of Appleby Camps
- Maintain positive relations with campers, parents and the Appleby Community
- Assist in providing a healthy snack to all campers accommodating all dietary restrictions
- Respond to the individual needs of campers and establish stable and consistent relationships with each child and their families/caregivers
- Ensure safe drop-off/pick-up of campers
- Ensure that the health and safety needs of the children are met and all health and safety issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately
- Assist in cleaning and tidying of the facility and be responsible for the safe storage of equipment, maintaining that all equipment is in good working order
YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:
- Secondary school education or minimum completion of Grade 11
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
- Team oriented, motivational and creative
- Energetic and enthusiastic
