Work Location: Wabush, NFLD
Salary: $125,000 to $130,000 per annum
Work Arrangement: Fixed on site – working on location each day
Schedule: 14/14
This is a FIFO role. Travel premium and accommodations provided.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily shop operations, scheduling, and coordination of tradespeople to meet operational requirements
- Assign work and allocate manpower to optimize productivity and turnaround time
- Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to technicians and apprentices
- Ensure quality workmanship through in‑process and post‑repair inspections
- Enforce company policies, safety procedures, OHSE standards, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and review work orders, service quotes, warranty documentation, and technical reports
- Support customer service efforts by resolving service issues and communicating repair solutions
- Coordinate work with lead hands, welders, subcontractors, and field service as required
- Train, coach, and evaluate employees while supporting skill development and rotation opportunities
- Assist with incident investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring
The successful candidate is a strong people leader with deep technical expertise who thrives in a fast‑paced, shop‑based environment. They combine hands‑on supervisory experience with a safety‑first mindset, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to developing others. Other requirements include:
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience in an industrial or heavy equipment environment
- Thorough working knowledge of Komatsu and other OEM equipment
- Strong understanding of OH&S legislation, safety management systems, and inspection requirements
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage shop resources effectively
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of independent decision‑making
