About the role
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates daily schedules for all extrusion lines based upon the master schedule, customer demands, materials and manpower availability.
Ensures that carrier and rubber are available to support the extrusion schedules.
Ensures that molding compounds are available to support the Finishing Master Production Plans (POCS).
Maintains accurate perpetual inventories on Carrier, rubber, molding compounds and work in process through regular cycle audit activities.
Investigates reasons and recommends corrective actions for cycle audit adjustments
Request authorization for cycle audit adjustments and enters approved adjustments into the ERP System (SAP).
Reacts to demand changes both internal and external to ensure that the Weekly Master Production Plan (POCS) can be consistently maintained and customer shipments are made on schedule.
Communicates exceptions to Plant Supervision on changes to customer requirements or material supply issues that impact the schedules.
Maintains inventory levels on carrier, rubber and WIP consistent with company objectives.
Reviews input from daily extrusion schedule production reports and enters WIP production into BPCS.
Reviews and verifies Factory Work Order summaries for correct material usage and submits to QA for processing.
Reconciles daily receiving entries and ensures errors or omissions are rectified in the ERP System (SAP).
Review and issue requests to the Corporate Purchasing team for new part numbers or vendor changes.
Established Lead Time, Safety Time, MOQ and Rounding QTYS in the ERP System (SAP) for carrier, rubber, and WIP items.
Participate in Lean Enterprise initiatives within the department and support other departments in their initiatives.
Acts as a backup for the Material Planner.
Authorizes premium shipment costs and arrange for transportation relating to the expedited movement of productive materials. Maintains a record of expedited shipments in the Corporate Freight management systems.
Ensures that vendor related costs are tracked and assigned back to the appropriate parties for any expediting costs associated with poor vendor performance.
Requisitions materials and supplies through the non-production order process as necessary.
Other duties as required.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Materials Management Diploma or APICS Certification
Material scheduling experience in an OE Automotive Tier 1 supplier for 3 years
Experience with computerized material control systems - SAP (HANA) and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to keep self-motivated
A friendly and positive outlook towards co-workers and work
Strong work ethic and able to handle stressful situations ethically
Ability to work in fast paced, hands-on unionized environment with minimal direction
