About the role

NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas. This state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in Canada and is being built with the goal of becoming the foremost battery hub in North America. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/ Receivable Specialist to join our Procurement team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in recording, computing, and classifying the revenue and payables data to ensure a complete financial record. Keeping track of the accounting is extremely important since the exact state of affairs is highly dependent on the current financial status of a company.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating day to day accounts payable and receivable duties,
  • Collaborating with cross functional members within the company.
  • Research and communicating with vendors to resolve payment issues by tracking payment history and monitoring daily bank balance and transactions.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable / receivable .
  • Assists departmental coordinators with accounting related matters and questions.
  • Manage and consultant with new vendors during implementation of vendor setups
  • Preparing monthly HQ reports and other ad-hoc reports as needed

Requirements:

  • Experience with SAP software is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products, especially Excel.
  • Positive, professional attitude and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills.
  • Effectively navigate financial systems
  • Attention to detail, numerical data entry, and duplicate entries.
  • Ability to prioritize when working on multiple tasks, meet deadlines, actively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential documents and information in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Knowledge in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
