The company emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and efficient use of heavy equipment on every job. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction Foreman role based in Hastings, ON. The Construction Foreman oversees daily field operations, including coordinating crews, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress on excavation, backfilling, driveways, lot clearing, retaining walls, and landscaping projects. The role includes reading and interpreting plans, organizing materials and equipment, and ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. The Construction Foreman is responsible for communicating clearly with team members, subcontractors, and site supervisors, and for addressing on-site issues as they arise. This position also requires active participation in hands-on construction work and adherence to all company and regulatory safety procedures.

Qualifications

Strong practical skills in related construction tasks, with the ability to lead by example on site. Experience operating Heavy Equipment safely and efficiently in excavation, grading, and site preparation activities. Demonstrated ability in Quality Control, including inspecting work, enforcing standards, and resolving construction issues. Effective Communication skills for directing crews, coordinating with contractors, and reporting to management. Basic understanding of Civil Engineering principles as they relate to site layout, drainage, and structural considerations. Proven experience in a foreman or supervisory role on construction or site work projects. Commitment to workplace safety, with knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices. Ability to read construction drawings, plan work sequences, and manage time and resources on multiple tasks. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Hastings, ON work sites. High school diploma or equivalent; additional trade certifications or technical training are an asset.
