About the role
As a Manager of Accounts Payable, you will play a crucial role in managing the company’s financial operations and ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions. You will lead a team of accounts payable, oversee vendor relationships, and contribute to the company’s overall financial stability and growth. Your responsibilities will include process optimization, compliance, and maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
Data Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in accounts payable and financial management regulations, with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in managerial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in accounts payable software and financial systems including Netsuite, Concur and Yooz
- Experience with credit card management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and motivate a team of accounts payable specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Manager and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiate terms and resolve vendor inquiries and issues.
- Continuously assess and improve accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and relevant regulations and oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Prepare an maintain accurate financial reports related to accounts payable including aging reports, cash flow projections and other relevant metrics.
- Assist with internal controls audits and external audits ensuring all necessary documentation and information are readily available.
- Oversee the ongoing integration and optimization of accounts payable systems and software with an emphasis on automation and data security.
- Collaborate with the finance team to manage cash flow effectively and optimize working capital.
- Handle and resolve disputes or discrepancies related to accounts payable, both internally and with vendors.
- Identify training needs for the team, provide guidance and support professional growth within the department.
