About the role

The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally. The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Summary The Site Services Supervisor supports the delivery of site services for the Great Bear Project by providing leadership, coordination, and execution of surface infrastructure, facilities, utilities, logistics, and yard operations during their assigned rotation. Working closely with the Site Services Superintendent and site leadership, this role ensures continuity of operations across rotations and contributes directly to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site services.

The Site Services Supervisor is responsible for executing site services plans, overseeing daily operations, and coordinating maintenance and contractor activities in alignment with established standards and priorities. This position plays a key role in operational readiness, infrastructure reliability, and ongoing surface operations throughout construction, commissioning, and underground development phases.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Site Services Operations

  • Lead and coordinate site services activities across buildings, yards, roads, utilities, and supporting infrastructure during assigned rotation.
  • Support the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and inspection of surface infrastructure, including buildings, temporary facilities, roads, and yard areas.
  • Participate in planning and execution of temporary services and infrastructure during early construction phases.
  • Support sustaining site services operations as the project transitions toward operations.

Infrastructure, Utilities & Maintenance

  • Oversee routine operation and maintenance of surface infrastructure systems, including:

Heating, cooling, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems

Potable water, sewage, and site utilities

Air and noise control systems

  • Support operation and monitoring of critical infrastructure such as the Chukuni Pipeline and Effluent Treatment Plant in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for Kinross-owned surface facilities.
  • Maintain inspection logs, maintenance records, and documentation required under environmental permits and site procedures.

Logistics, Yard & Material Handling

  • Coordinate safe loading, offloading, staging, and movement of materials and equipment.
  • Support yard organization, traffic management, and seasonal maintenance activities.
  • Lead execution of snow clearing, road maintenance, and seasonal readiness activities.

Contractor & Workforce Coordination

  • Coordinate and direct contractors and internal crews performing site services work.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with site safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
  • Support work planning, sequencing, and resource allocation to meet site priorities.
  • Identify and escalate risks related to safety, schedule, cost, or performance.

Safety, Environment & Compliance

  • Participate in field-level hazard identification, inspections, and incident follow-up.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with federal and provincial regulations, permits, and site procedures.
  • Support environmental maintenance activities such as upkeep of ditches, berms, and settling ponds

Planning, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support development and execution of site services plans, schedules, and priorities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on service delivery, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Provide operational updates, shift handovers, and status reporting to the Site Services Superintendent & Site Leadership.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, forecasts, and supporting information related to site services activities.

Qualifications And Skill Requirements A minimum of 6-9 years experience in site services, facilities, infrastructure, or related roles within mining, construction, or industrial environments. Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or lead capacity is considered an asset.

Technical diploma or trade certificate in a relevant field (construction, mechanical, facilities management) is considered an asset.

  • Strong working knowledge of site services support equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, generators.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical best practices.
  • Expertise in materials handling practices, lifting, rigging, etc.
  • Experience with contractor management and project execution.

Work Conditions

This position is based in Red Lake, Ontario. In this role you will work a 14X14 rotation.

Compensation And Total Rewards The base salary range for the Site Services Supervisor is $100,000 to $125,000 + Short Term Incentive Bonus, + Group Benefit Coverage.
