Know our team
Nutrition International’s Strategy & Governance team supports the President & CEO of Nutrition International. It leads key corporate planning exercises, facilitates strategy development, and leads Special Projects. The team works closely with the broader Senior Executive Team and with regional and country offices. The Strategy and Governance team also supports the President’s engagements with Nutrition International’s global Board of Directors. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for a Manager, Strategy & Governance to be based in Ottawa, Canada.
About you
You are someone with a bachelor’s degree in humanities, arts, or sciences, master’s degree preferred. You have at least 5 years of experience in either management consulting, project management, or a similar role and prior experience working with and preparing materials for senior executives, ideally in a strategy or corporate planning role.
You have prior work experience or academic study in international development preferred, but not essential. You have policy/business research skills (scientific research skills are not required) including the ability to identify and summarize key insights from research. You have the demonstrated ability to produce excel-based models/tools for quantitative analysis and have excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to present to large groups on complex topics.
Fluency in English is required. French will be considered an asset.
About the role
In this role you will:
· Provide research, analysis, process design, and project management support for corporate planning, strategy development, and special projects. In some cases, assume ownership of discrete projects and be responsible for delivering them on schedule with high-quality, with guidance and support from the Chief of Staff & Senior Director, Strategy.
· Produce high-quality research reports, memos, and presentations to support these processes.
· Serve as a liaison point on these processes for the rest of the organization, ensuring the relevant stakeholders are kept informed and appropriately involved.
· Provide coordination and analytical support to the Executive Team as directed by the President & CEO. This includes support necessary to design and deliver successful meetings of the Executive Management Committee, Executive Office, and of the Leadership Group.
· Support the planning and execution of the President’s engagement with the Board of Directors.
· Coordinate and support the delivery of high quality, well-organized calls with Board members, Board committee meetings, and full Board meetings. This includes coordinating agenda development, development of background and presentation materials, recording and filing minutes, and tracking action items.
· Support the Chief of Staff & Senior Director, Strategy in developing the President’s Office team, including by serving as a professional mentor and guide for junior team members.
· Actively contribute to building a strong team ethos and positive work environment for all members. Potentially manage 1-2 direct reports with support and guidance from the Chief of Staff & Senior Director, Strategy.
