Purpose: The job provides general assistance in the upgrade of in-house built reports and dashboards, as well as documenting existing processes for the Software Development Services from Late April to late August. The job assists in the development and maintenance of data reporting.

Work is assigned in terms of meeting broad objectives and timelines. The incumbent works under the guidance and direction of the supervisor and performs with some independence. The work is also guided by records management principles, the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), and the Access to Information Act (ATIA).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compile and build reports in Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio and Power BI Desktop
  • Understand the in-house built reports, incl. front end and database
  • Upgrade legacy reports and do troubleshooting
  • Research problems and provide details to the team
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing changes/enhancements
  • Test upgraded reports and document changes
  • Test other reports/functions
  • Perform a range of support for the team, including generating written material
  • Participating in team meetings

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of C#, Microsoft SQL Query, Microsoft Reporting Services, SQL Server database, Power BI Reports, Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Good experience with SQL Server Management Studio and GitHub
  • Knowledge of Azure and Power Platforms is an asset.
