Position Summary
As our Health and Safety Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in our operations team, helping our continuous improvement manager lead the charge on building upon our Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives as well as successfully closing out action items, either prior or newly founded. Reporting to the Leader, Continuous Improvement, you’ll partner with leadership and employees to create a proactive safety environment, minimize workplace risks, and champion a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Flag high risk scenarios and stop gaps across operations and proactively act against non-compliance in the workplace

Track and Develop KPIs on H&S measurements
-
Create systems and processes to maintain and/or eliminate risk
-
Implement H&S safety systems and enforce Operational Leaders to implement and sustain best practices
-
Amalgamate different H&S practices into one, cohesive system of record
-
Collaborate with teams across the city to ensure safe working practices are implemented and enforced
-
Provide timely updates to CI leader and Human Resources
-
Oversee federal environmental reporting, permitting, and due diligence as required.

Analyzing health and safety data
-
Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations
-
Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits across the Windsor locations
-
Act as a resource and liaison to the JHSC, management, employees, and external regulatory agencies to foster a strong safety culture
Qualifications:
-
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
-
A minimum of 2 years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
-
A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Health & Safety or a related field preferably at a managerial level. (CRSP an asset)
-
Knowledge or previous experience in H&S systems into multi-facility organizations
-
Strong knowledge of OHSA, Industrial Regulations, and Canadian safety standards.

Excellent computer proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

A forward-thinking and innovative approach to H&S

Knowledge or previous experience implementing corporate timeline (Gantt) charts with appropriate timelines and due dates
-
Flexibility to travel to various SyBridge locations across the Windsor region. (50 %+)
