Specific Position Duties

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• A strong commitment to inclusive education, coordinating supports for diverse learners through effective planning and a collaborative, school-wide approach to student success
• The ability to use assessment for learning and student data to guide instruction, with knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices such as UFLI, Heggerty, and the Science of Reading considered an asset
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, contributing to strong home–school partnerships and active involvement in school and community life.
• A commitment to fostering engaging, developmentally responsive learning environments that support student growth academically, socially, and emotionally

Qualifications and General Duties

The successful candidate will possess:

• A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

• A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment

• Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices

• Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning

• The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team

• A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard

  • A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
