The Pharmacy Technician performs routine pharmaceutical work of a technical and clerical nature.
Duties will include but are not limited to
Drug distribution duties including filling, compounding, and checking prescriptions and wardstock; Preparing sterile intravenous product, including cancer chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition (TPN); Interviewing patients to create a “Best Possible Med History” (BPMH) and entering medication history information into the clinical information system (CIS); Assisting with inventory maintenance (e.g., purchasing, receiving, returns, etc.); Conveying information and materials related to the activities of the Department; Maintaining pharmacy supplies and equipment; Performing other related and allied duties which contribute to the orderly and efficient operation of the Pharmacy Department; PacMed and PacVision Unit dosing dispensing; The Pharmacy Technician will have demonstrated competency in sterile parenteral preparation, checking prescriptions and wardstock, and obtaining Best Possible Medication Histories, or must successfully complete an internal certification/competency program(s) in at least two of these three areas within one year.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires that the incumbent to be currently registered as a pharmacy technician with the PEI College of Pharmacists (as outlined in the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Regulations). Successful completion of Grade 12. A working knowledge of computers and pharmacy related software. Neat and legible handwriting. The ability to make accurate mathematical calculations. A good previous work and attendance record.
Other Qualifications
Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice is considered an asset. Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $29.04 - $32.80 per hour
Bi-Weekly Hours: 75 Hours Bi-Weekly / Days / Evenings / Weekends.
