About the role

The primary role of Tech I – Facilities is to be responsible for the infrastructure, services, and surrounding grounds of the company premises. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities management, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Responsibilities will include assisting with maintenance requests, managing supplies and working under the supervision of the Maintenance Tech/Supervisor/Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building maintenance, schedules, and operations.
  • Support the Maintenance Supervisor in planning and managing facilities projects, including renovations, office moves, and building improvements.
  • Assist in the monitoring of the facility to ensure cleanliness, and compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Respond to facilities-related issues and emergencies promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair tasks around the facility.
  • Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Do errands/ pick up drop off parts as needed.
  • Provide an annual driver’s abstract, clean driving record.
  • Managing areas like parking lots, snow removal, salting, general landscaping, recycling, garbage, cleaning, and building maintenance.
  • Assist with company functions, such as set up and tear down.
  • Maintaining the vehicle safe and clean.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • A polite and professional disposition.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize work for the maintenance and repair of facility systems.
  • Critical thinking skills to efficiently identify and resolve issues that may arise in the facility.
  • Excellent communication skills to consult with team members, contractors, and other stakeholders,
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Previous experience in facilities assistant or a similar role
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks and equipment
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma: or relevant field is a plus to have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role or in the field.
  • Experience / exposure to a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and facilities.
