Field Service Technician – Security & Telecommunications

Ansatel Communications Inc. is seeking a motivated and reliable Field Service Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, wiring, and troubleshooting of security camera systems, business phone systems, and other low-voltage equipment at customer locations throughout the Lower Mainland.
Responsibilities
Install, wire, and terminate low-voltage cabling for security camera and phone systems. Install and configure IP security cameras, NVRs, and related equipment. Install, program, and troubleshoot VoIP and business phone systems. Perform onsite service calls, maintenance, and repairs. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, floor plans, and installation documentation. Run cable through walls, ceilings, and conduits while ensuring clean and professional installations. Test and verify system functionality after installation. Troubleshoot cabling, network, and equipment issues. Maintain accurate service notes and installation records. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards and safety procedures.
Qualifications
Diploma in Electronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field. 1–2 years of experience in electronics, low-voltage wiring, telecommunications, or security system installations. Strong understanding of wiring practices, cable termination, and electronic equipment. Experience with security cameras, phone systems, and structured cabling is an asset. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record. Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work at heights when required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
