Pay Range: $33.75 - $39.04 per hour
Job Summary:
Maintenance Technicians in automotive parts manufacturing companies are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and facilities to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Overall, Maintenance Technicians play a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation of equipment and facilities in automotive parts manufacturing companies, contributing to the company's productivity, quality, and safety objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
-**Equipment Maintenance and Repair:**Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection, to ensure the proper functioning of machinery and equipment. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues using troubleshooting techniques, diagnostic tools, and equipment manuals. Conduct repairs and adjustments to machinery, components, and systems to restore functionality and prevent production disruptions. -**Preventive Maintenance:**Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to established procedures and maintenance schedules. Identify and replace worn or defective parts, such as belts, bearings, motors, and sensors, before they cause equipment failures or breakdowns. Perform predictive maintenance tasks, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, to detect potential equipment failures and address them proactively. -Equipment Setup and Changeovers: Assist in the setup, calibration, and changeover of manufacturing equipment to support production requirements and minimize downtime between product runs. Ensure that equipment settings, tooling, and configurations are properly adjusted and aligned according to production specifications. -**Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:**Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, alarms, or abnormal operating conditions to minimize production disruptions. Analyze equipment performance data, diagnostic reports, and maintenance records to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, and production personnel to resolve complex technical problems and optimize equipment performance. -**Safety Compliance:**Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others. Perform safety inspections, hazard assessments, and risk assessments on equipment and work areas, and take corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards. Report safety incidents, near misses, and hazards to management and participate in safety training and awareness programs. -Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts consumed, and equipment downtime using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other tracking tools. Generate maintenance reports, work orders, and equipment logs to track equipment performance, identify trends, and communicate maintenance needs to supervisors and management.
Job Qualifications:
-**Education:**High School Diploma or Equivalent -Technical Education: Additional technical education or training in fields related to maintenance and repair. This could include: Technical Diploma or certificate program in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical trades. -**Work Experience:**Experience in maintenance, repair, or related fields would be preferred. -**Technical Skills:**Basic technical skills related to maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance techniques is essential.
