Position Overview:

Under the general direction of the SAP Program Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the
functional architecture and integration of the SAP S/4HANA for Utilities implementation project, including SAP S/4HANA Private
Cloud, Employee Central Payroll (ECP), SuccessFactors, and Ariba, and its future sustainment operation. You will design and
provide recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions leveraging SAP application functionality that align with business
requirements and enterprise architecture standards.

The SAP Functional Solution Architect brings extensive knowledge of the current SAP ECC landscape and the target SAP S/4HANA
functional and architectural landscape to the implementation project team and helps ensure that SAP solutions align with the
organization's business needs, processes, and strategic objectives. This role requires a combination of deep understanding of
business operations, SAP solution architecture expertise, and strong collaboration and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide SAP functional and architectural leadership within the project team, acting as the team lead for solution architecture

across ECC and S/4HANA transition phases.

  • Work with Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Owners, SAP Business Systems Analysts, and SAP technical teams to

produce an optimal, high-level conceptual SAP design for Manitoba Hydro.

  • Act as the primary SAP department point of contact in the work intake process, determining SAP solutions, estimating SAP

resource effort, and assessing service delivery impacts.

  • Be responsible for identifying target applications and maintaining the target SAP application and integration landscape,

including on-premise, private cloud, and SAP cloud solutions.

  • Approve functional architecture designs and lead SAP functional design sessions with the broader team, including

infrastructure, integration, security, and development teams.

  • Leverage the existing program roadmap, charter, and guiding principles to recommend solutions, initiatives, and provide input

on key decisions for business prioritization and requirements.

  • Create and document SAP solution architecture using Business Process Documents (BPDs), Configuration Rationale

Documents (CRDs), and other required artifacts.

  • Communicate effectively with project and program leadership regarding functional and technical architecture design decisions.
  • Understand Manitoba Hydro requirements and support RFx (RFI/RFQ/RFP) activities in support of the SAP roadmap.
  • Participate in meetings with Manitoba Hydro business unit stakeholders during high-level scoping and design activities.
  • Collaborate with the implementation partner SAP Solution Architect and SAP Basis team to define, review, and approve key

deliverables, including the Technical Architecture Design document.

  • Define and ensure that all functional requirements and integrations are met for each project phase, including integrations

between S/4HANA, ECC (as applicable), SuccessFactors, ECP, Ariba, and non-SAP systems.

  • Partner with business process owners, champions, and other key stakeholders to understand high-level requirements and

business objectives within a regulated utilities environment.

  • Coordinate with functional, technical, and deployment leads on process, solution, data, integration, architecture, development,

security and identity management, and reporting decisions.

  • Coordinate troubleshooting and performance analysis initiatives for implemented SAP solutions.

Qualifications:

  • A four year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or Information Management from a

university of recognized standing with a minimum of five years of directly applicable systems analysis, systems architecture,
and project experience, including a minimum of three years of computer systems analysis/architecture experience;
OR

  • A two year diploma in Computer Programming Technology or Business Administration from an institute of recognized

standing with a minimum of seven years of directly applicable systems analysis, systems architecture, and programming
experience, including a minimum of three years of computer systems analysis/architecture experience.

  • Possess strong strategic and tactical planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make and implement well-reasoned decisions; organized, analytical, self-motivated, with strong

out-of-the-box thinking abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues, both strategic and tactical, in the best overall interests of the Corporation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Private Cloud architectures, and hybrid SAP integration patterns,

including on-premise and SAP cloud solutions.

  • Overall solution architecture expertise in more than one functional workstream (e.g. FI/CO, SD, IS-U, ECP, SuccessFactors,

EWM, Ariba).

  • Expertise in SAP S/4HANA with end-to-end implementation or conversion experience, including ECC to S/4HANA

transformation.

  • Experience participating in SAP implementation RFx (RFI/RFQ/RFP) activities as a solution architect responsible for

designing end-to-end SAP solutions.

  • Prior solution delivery or program experience (minimum 3–4 years within Utilities is an asset, overall 10–14 years of IT/SAP

experience) with exposure to SAP implementation and delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to document and model complex business processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff at all levels of the organization.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $47.22-$65.19 Hourly,
$90,484.68-$124,925.58 Annually.
