About the Role

You are a seasoned Frontend Engineer with a passion for building exceptional user experiences across web and mobile applications. Our client is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to join their growing team in Toronto (hybrid, 3 days a week in-office). This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of design and engineering. Someone who can transform product roadmaps into scalable, high-quality applications. You’ll work closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineering peers to influence product direction while implementing robust, elegant solutions across frontend web applications and React Native mobile applications. You’ll also play a key role in shaping developer tooling and SDKs, ensuring customer-facing applications deliver a seamless experience at scale.

Responsibilities

• Transform product roadmaps into scalable, high-quality applications.
• Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineering peers.
• Implement robust, elegant solutions across frontend web applications and React Native mobile applications.
• Shape developer tooling and SDKs.
• Ensure customer-facing applications deliver a seamless experience at scale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in frontend development for SaaS applications.
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (OOP), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS).
• 2+ years of experience building single-page applications (SPAs) with frameworks such as React, Vue.js, Angular, or Ember (React strongly preferred).
• Hands-on experience with React Native for mobile applications.
• Skilled in consuming data from RESTful APIs; understanding of backend web processes.
• Solid understanding of Git, repository management, and related workflows.
• Experience with state management (Redux, Flux, Vuex, etc.).
• Proficiency with testing tools (Jest, Enzyme, Cypress, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: coding standards, code reviews, build processes, and testing best practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining design systems (component libraries).
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and collaborative.
• Experience mentoring or coaching team members.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL.
• Familiarity with SDK development (web or mobile).
• Knowledge of backend development, protocols, and client-side optimization.
• Strong sense of design, UX fundamentals, accessibility, and responsive design.
