Role Purpose/ Summary:
We are currently seeking a Facilities Manager to focus on overseeing our existing maintenance programs and initiatives; program manage Capex projects, taking responsibility for the physical buildings, equipment, and ensuring excellence in preventative maintenance.

Key responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate all facility infrastructure, equipment, and physical property to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation under EU-GMP standards
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of facility infrastructure, including production machinery, HVAC, boilers, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and building utilities.
- Implement and manage a CMMS to drive maintenance planning, work execution, team performance, and KPI tracking (MTBF, MTTR, schedule adherence, uptime, maintenance cost per asset).
- Lead the progression from preventive to predictive maintenance by leveraging data and analytics from the facility’s controls systems, identifying trends, early warning indicators, and opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain full ownership of the maintenance budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and disciplined tracking of maintenance spending, asset performance, and ROI on maintenance strategies.
- Manage and maintain a forward-looking view of all equipment lifecycles, replacement timelines, long-term asset planning, and alignment of capital needs with operational requirements.
- Determine and maintain requirements for critical spare parts, optimizing inventory to support uptime, rapid response capability, and cost-effective inventory levels.
- Inspect all building systems and equipment regularly to identify deficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and establish corrective action plans for plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and facility-related problems.
- Conduct and document seasonal commissioning of critical systems, including boilers in winter and air handling/AC units in summer.
- Work directly with the production management team to align maintenance activities with production schedules, support operational readiness, and maximize equipment availability and throughput.
- Provide full project management oversight for all capital projects and infrastructure upgrades, including scoping, scheduling, vendor coordination, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Maintain strong relationships with contractors, vendors, OEMs, and external trades, serving as the primary point of contact for all facility-related external services.
- Develop and implement schedules, SOPs, and procedures for safety inspections, EU-GMP compliance checks, and maintenance programs, ensuring documentation accuracy and audit readiness.

Qualifications:
- 10+ years of trade or building management experience required Demonstrated expertise and hands on troubleshooting skills with industrial HVAC systems, boilers, mechanical systems required Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies, including the use of controls-system
- Demonstrated experience providing project management for capital projects
- Proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Government regulations specific to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
- City bylaws that pertain to building operations and maintenance Strong leadership abilities with experience training, supervising, and developing maintenance or facilities teams; able to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry, EU-GMP standards, or other regulated production environments is an asset but not required Building Operator Certification (BOC) is considered an asset
