Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Electrical System Superintendent, you will be part of the Underground Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Complying with all safety policies, procedures and regulations;
- Leading and coaching team members in the achievement of maintenance safety and productivity targets;
- Modification, maintaining and troubleshooting underground power distribution electrical systems including:
- 13.8kV and 4.16kV switchgear.
- 600V distribution including any equipment related to dewatering and ventilation.
- Automation related to dewatering, ventilation and any other automated processes.
- Fiber infrastructure
- LTE infrastructure
- Main conveyor (surface and underground)
- Installation and commissioning of new underground electrical systems while ensuring minimum impact to operation processes including:
- 13.8kV, 4160V and 600V Power distribution;
- Cable installation and grounding (HVTeck, Teck, Multiconductor, Telecom Cat5E, Fiber);
- Equipment (Pump Starter, PLC, Instrumentation, ABB drives, Benshaw softstarts);
- Fiber installation and fusion
- Leakyfeeder
- LTE equipment and cabling
- Provide support to troubleshoot and maintain 600V mobile electrical equipment (jumbo, bolter).
- Provide support to troubleshoot and maintain electrical infrastructure inside paste plant.
- Manage workflow screening, assisting with prioritizing, coordinating, planning and scheduling of task workload;
- Read specifications and drawings such as blueprints to determine a construction method;
- Assisting in the preparation of cost forecasts, budgets and monthly reports;
- Developing and implementing standards and procedures that meet all statutory and regulatory requirements;
- Ensure electrical code rules are followed;
- Ensure quality of work and proper commissioning;
- Oversee and provide expertise for all electrical activities related to the site and dewatering infrastructure.
- Assist with the preparation of short, medium and long term plans;
- Collaborate with Underground Mine Operations to execute an effective operations and maintenance strategy.
What You Need To Succeed
- Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) Electrical trade certificate;
- Minimum of 5 years practical work experience within the mining sector and construction;
- 5 years’ supervisory experience;
- Experience working in SAP/JDE or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);
- Knowledge of Ontario Health, Safety and Environment Acts and any legislation directly aimed at the mining industry;
- Professional Engineer Designation is an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days for transportation and rest. *Schedule to change when production increases and would switch to 7/7 or 14/14
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
