**Employment Status:**Temporary Casual 4 months

**Location:**Edmonton, ERDP | Work Model: On-site

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Data Platform, the Data & AI Integration Summer Student supports the Data & Analytics team by preparing, transforming, and validating datasets used in analytics, automation, and AI initiatives. The role contributes to building data pipelines, supporting prototypes, and improving data quality to ensure reliable, usable data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for duties that will include:

  • Prepare, clean, and transform datasets to support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Python.
  • Support ingestion, transformation, and integration of data from multiple sources.
  • Conduct data profiling and investigate data quality issues or anomalies.
  • Contribute to prototypes or proof of concepts for AI/ML or automation use cases.
  • Create basic visualizations or reports in Power BI.
  • Document data definitions, processes, and metadata to support governance and reuse.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Diploma/Degree in progress in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 6 months of experience through academic, project, internship, or personal work in data or programming.
  • Experience in Python programming, SQL and relational databases, data cleaning, transformation, and exploratory analysis
  • Knowledge in Power BI fundamentals, Introductory AI/ML concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or cloud data platforms.
