Exciting Opportunity at the Metro Distribution Centre in Etobicoke, ON! As an Order Selector at Metro, you'll ensure products are accurately picked, packed, and shipped to stores on time. Working independently, you'll follow a voice-recognition headset system, manually handle product cases weighing up to 50 lbs, and operate a motorized single/double pallet jack to transport pallets efficiently. Your role is vital to maintaining a smooth distribution process, requiring a 100% productivity rate, daily safety equipment checks, and adherence to Health & Safety regulations. Additionally, you'll help uphold sanitation and food quality standards, ensuring Metro products meet the highest expectations.

General Information

  • Available Shifts: Afternoon Shift (2pm-10pm) and Overnight Shift (10pm-6am)
  • Pay: $22.50/hour (+$0.55/hr premium for shifts after 4pm)
  • Flexible Hours: Must be available for a minimum of 28 hours/week, up to 40 hours during peak seasons

Responsibilities

  • Work independently in the warehouse using a voice-recognition headset system
  • Locate and pick product cases weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Operate a motorized single/double pallet jack to transport pallets
  • Meet a 100% productivity rate to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Perform daily safety checks on equipment to ensure safe operations
  • Follow Health & Safety standards and regulations
  • Maintain sanitation and food quality standards

Requirements

  • Motivated worker who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • 12+ months of experience in a warehouse/distribution center as an Order Selector
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) operating a rider pallet jack
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, reaching, and lifting 50 lbs safely and repetitively
  • Comfortable working in multi-temperature environments
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Owns CSA-approved safety shoes
  • Able to provide a clear criminal background check and professional references
  • Proficient in reading, writing, listening to, and following instructions
