Who you are
- 3–5 years experience in data analytics, preferably in music, entertainment, or digital media
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills, and ability to work autonomously
- Proven success in turning data into actionable business strategies
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, cross-functional environment
- Strong skills in SQL, Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Understanding of the modern music landscape, including DSPs, social media, and fan behavior
- Communication and storytelling skills—able to bridge the gap between data and creative teams
- Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of curiosity and problem-solving instincts
- Post secondary education in financial and data analysis with focus on commercial insights and planning
- Evening and weekend work may be required
- Experience working with music metadata and charting data (e.g., Luminate, Chartmetric, etc.)
- Knowledge of marketing attribution models or forecasting
- Familiarity with Python or R a plus
What the job involves
- Reports To: General Manager
- The role will translate commercial business activity into actionable data insights, support budget and forecast planning, and drive alignment with key business OKRs through rigorous performance tracking and data analytics
- Analyze streaming, sales, and audience engagement data across platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
- Help manage and refine forecasting models to provide accurate, timely performance tracking and revenue projections
- Provide actionable insights to support budget forecasting, artist development, release strategy, and marketing campaigns
- Build dashboards and reports that visualize key metrics, trends, and performance benchmarks
- Identify emerging markets, genres, or consumption patterns to inform growth opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, A&R, Digital Strategy) to support data-driven decision making
- Present findings to stakeholders in a clear, compelling way—translating data into strategic recommendations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support key initiatives—such as product launches and pricing strategies —through strategic planning and performance tracking
- Help manage OKR reporting, ensuring business stakeholders have visibility into progress against business goals
