JOB SUMMARY
Volunteers will work with certified instructors and assist with the children’s lesson programs in both our camps and Ski Wee departments. We are looking for individuals that enjoy working with kids and have a desire to learn more about the world of instructing as well as creating an amazing guest experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure the safety of the students you are assisting
- Required to be punctual and adhere to the uniform requirements of the position.
- Required to attend pre-season department training.
- Required to assist young riders on the lifts, assist the snow school classes on the trails, greet patrons and perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist in operational responsibilities of relevant Kids' programs including but not limited to registration process and upkeep of outdoor teaching areas
- Adapt to, support, and effectively deal with change and share learning opportunities with others
- Arrive fit for work and take responsibility for your personal health and safety
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position reports directly to the Snow School Supervisors, no direct supervisory responsibilities are given.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to be self-motivated with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to confidently ride all trails at Grouse Mountain (required)
- Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
- Able to repeatedly lift 20.4 kg (45 lbs.) comfortably.
- Able to communicate verbally in a clear and concise manner.
- Able to complete other physically demanding duties as required.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Customer oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Takes pride in their work.
- Minimum of 14 years of age as of Dec 14, 2025.
- Multilingual is an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, shoveling and other forms of manual tasks.
